freshly squeezed... the shed

imagine * taste * illuminate * surprise * whip * mix * launch
An evening of short experimental works by new performance makers

Over a month a group of Sydney's most exciting emerging artists will meet regularly in a shared space to exchange ideas, form new collaborations and test approaches while devising a series of short works for public showing. freshly squeezed will premiere in August 2010, showcasing the result of a month’s experimentation and workshopping around the stimulus “the shed.” We are inspired by the assaulting fierce noise of power tools, the unpleasant smell of oily rags, the rhythm of rain falling on corrugated iron, homemade lemonade, freshly cut grass... “The shed” evokes an array of images that interrogates our senses and activates our imaginations.

freshly squeezed will be an evening jammed with dance and movement, new media, puppetry, beat poetry and theatre. This hybrid collaboration will become one of Sydney’s most original and diverse performance events.

a created natural place

Katy Green and Tom Hogan will be in residence at Blacktown Arts Centre developing a new work, a created natural place. Set in a forest plantation in Sydney's west, the artists will explore the body's relationship to place, how place can shape our identity and inspire us to act, move and speak.
