Katy Green
Katy is a movement/theatre artist, passionate about making performance that is personal, conceptual and process-based. She completed a Bachelor of Performance, Theory and Practice (Honours) with Honours Class 1 at UWS in 2006. During Honours she devised and directed dancing with… a practical investigation into creating contact dance relationships with an ‘absent’ body. In 2006 Katy formed stagejuice, and in 2007 the new group redeveloped dancing with… for the Quarterbred Festival at PACT. Also with stagejuice, Katy co-devised ball at Liveworks, Performance Space (2008), and co-devised/produced in the shadows at PACT Theatre (2009). She has an ongoing relationship with Perth duo The Heart of Gold Girls and has worked as a performer for Primavera, MCA Sydney (2008) and Girl Parade, ACP (2007). Katy also works regularly with version 1.0. She stage managed for This Kind of Ruckus (2009), Hurt and Damage Research and Development Project (2008) and Deeply Offensive and Utterly Untrue (2007) and performed in Wages of Spin, (2006 and 2005). Katy has trained in Suzuki, Viewpoints, dance, movement improvisation and Feldenkrais and has been instructed by Martin del Amo, Shane Jones (Zen Zen Zo), Lee Wilson, Margi Kaye and Deborah Pollard. Katy also teaches performance making workshops to people with a disability for Accessible Arts at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery.
