Tom Hogan
Tom is a Sydney-based musician and sound artist who incorporates a wide range of genres into his designs and depending on his mood, bases his designs on unaltered compositions or through extensive editing and mixing of sound sources. His largest influences for sound creation are Jim Hall, Marc Ribot and Frank Zappa. Tom recently completed a double Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music and English at UNSW. Throughout his education Tom gained experience in musical direction, composing, sound engineering and producing. He has been involved in a wide range of young artist theatre productions, undertaking various roles including sound design, writing, producing and lighting design. This year Tom wrote and produced Curious?, which enjoyed a sell-out season at Studio One, UNSW. He has been honoured with numerous awards including NUTS Best Sound Design Award (2006) for Rosencrantz & Guildenstern, NUTS Sound Design Runner Up (2007) for Blood of Kings, NUTS Best Original Script (2007) for Murder at 7th Wall, and NUTS People’s Choice Award (2006) for Moving Apples. Tom wishes to pursue a career as a sound engineer and producer, while mixing and recording live and studio projects for bands and live performance.

Tom is a key member of stagejuice. He was the sound artist for ball, a short movement and sound piece that was presented at NightTime #6 at Performance Space, CarriageWorks and is currently the sound artist and technician for in the shadows, which will be presented at PACT in early 2009.
